Ahh, ok. Not sure, but I suspect a wire for the 'trickle charge' capability for a separate starter batt on the 12V models.

It's to allow the Multi's charger to temp-compensate it's charge V's. And in more complex systems to pass it on to other kit as well.
Usually comes in the Multi box, at least for the bigger ones.
