3 x Multiplus 10000 ii + 1 x Central 15kWh Pylontech

Hello,

Just wanted to double check something.

I am designing a system that is 3 phases 230v L-E and I am proposing putting 1 inverter on each phase and then having a central battery bank of 3 x US5000 Pylontechs.

There will be 3 sets of battery cables going to the Victron Lynx from the inverter ( 1 pair per inverter ) and then a set going from the lynx to the battery.

IS there any reason why this wont work?

Just wanted to double check.

Thanks.

Yes, you are grossly undersized on the batteries which can deliver around 240A on a system that could use over 600A.

And that is assuming US5000C. US5000’s have lower discharge specs.

Agreeing with @nickdb on all points.

Also..... L- E as no neutral. Big no to that. That is a delta connection it is not supported.

thats not going to work ... as @nickdb stated, 15kW is not enough, you need at least to triple that amount

i have a 3 phase multiplus 2 3000 system and 15kW pylontech battery storage and thats the recommended minimum

Thanks. I’ll either down size the inverters or increase the battery capacity. So if I’ve got 3 x US5000 commoned up to 3 inverters. Does that document means it’s 1 battery to 1 inverter or 3 batteries to 1 inverter?

@JordanT2612

The basic maths is...

30 000va ÷ 48v = 625A.

The central battery bank needs to be able supply nominally / continuously that amount of current.

the document is an example with a us2000,

if you look at the multiplus 2 48/ 3000 in the list it says 2x us 2000 for 1 one multiplus (4,8kw total, thats equal to 1 us5000), so for 3x multiplus 2 48/3000 its 6x us2000 / 3x us 5000

if you are going to use the multiplus 10k its going to be 4x us 5000's for one multiplus
(3 phase would be 12x us 5000's)

buts as @Alexandra says, they are all connected in parallel, as one big battery bank
