Which MPPT charger to use to charge a 48v, 60v & 72v ebike battery?

Hi all. Which Victron MMPT charge controller is apprpriate to charge a 48v 14ah ebike battery? How about charging a 60v or 72v ebike battery? Thanks everyone.

Hi @roddd,

Victron MPPTS only support up to 48V battery systems, not 60V or 72V.

Generally speaking Victron MPPTs are not designed to connect directly to ebike lithium batteries. Lithium batteries usually require a per cell level BMS, to manage internal balancing, and while it is possible to make this work, it should definitely not be considered out-of-the-box functionality.

It would be best to work with your ebike battery supplier, and talk to them about a charging system that they are happy to support/warrant in case there are any issues with the battery.

??? Normal e-bike battery is already whit bms they work only +-. Bms inside will cut off battery and balance.

Hi, Guy have reason,

But if you want charge your bike on your solar system, (solar pannel, controler and small battery bank) you will need to add a inverter (pure sine) generate 110V ac or 220 AV, you just need to plug your charger on the inverter and voila, the charger built for your e-kike will make a good job.
