Is the MK3-USB cable needed to install my new system

I shortly be installing a 8000kva Quattro, 250/100 charge controller, Pylontech batteries and a Venus GX. Do I need the MK3-USB cable to adjust the settings?

Yes you need a MK3, the default settings are not suitable for the Pylontech batteries.

Hi Tony,

For now yes, it is required to have an MK3 to make sure the Quattro is up to date with the latest firmware at the point of installation.

Some of the other settings changes suggested for a Pylontech system (as M.Lange answered) can also be made via Remote VE.Configure via the internet and your GX device without an MK3, though it's probably easier to do it via the MK3 after updating firmware.
