Orión XS showing 0 amps on both input and output

Recent install of Orion XS charging BB battery bank configured with Lynx, IP Smart Shunt and MP 2. The Orion app is showing appropriate voltage on both battery bank and the chassis battery. I confirmed that there is 0 amperage going to bank. Incidentally, I learned this the hard way after traveling all day only to find my battery bank dead.

Has anyone else experienced this issue? If so, were you able to remediate? I have talked to distributor and supposedly they are working on an RMA, but at this point all I have is a blue box that can read voltages from the input and output side.

Thanks in advance for any assistance you might like to share.

Can you please add some screenshots from the VictronConnect overview screen and from the settings?

I have a screen shot of the setup and I’ll try to post one later once battery drains down as I’m currently grid connected. Note that I have the amps set way down as I was testing moving Orion ground to IP Smart Shunt (as shown in the manual) along with moving to a lynx bus. I was using lighter gauge wire so I wanted to limit amps.

I have a couple more screen shots of battery status right before I turned the ignition which activates the Orion and the a shot of the Orion showing no current transfer in or out.

Battery status before:

Now status of Orion:

I hope that helps anyone who is familiar with the Orion XS to identify why it’s not working. I too know that it’s not just a faulty reading as the Orion puts exactly ZERO charge on the batteries.

Thanks in advance for any help.

@Flobar00 Have you checked the fuse at the Orion's output to the battery being charged?

I don’t believe I would get a voltage reading if the fuse on either side of Orion were blown, but I did check voltage between each leg to the Orion positive posts on both the In/Out and both were reading correct voltage. Thanks for suggestion.

The Orion shows output voltage of 14.4V. But the battery is at 13V.

The Orion is showing the voltage it is trying to charge at. There is a break in the wiring between the Orion and the battery you're trying to charge.

There is no break in wire between Orion and battery bank. That was one of the first things that I verified in that both leads from both battery sources were intact. Also, are you sure that Orion output voltage is a target voltage and not the current voltage measured at the battery source?

Thanks for responding

It's measuring actual output voltage. If it was connected to the battery, then battery voltage would show. As @klim8skeptic said, could be a fuse. You need to check continuity along the whole cable length.

@Flobar00 Another thing to look at would be the negative wiring between the XS and battery.

Check the remote connector!

On my first delivered unit the connector was neither soldered nor glued, got the whole connector in my hand when I tried to pull it out.

The replaced unit worked for a couple of weeks and then showed the same problem you describe. When I poked the remote connector, the charging worked. My conclusion is that it was a bad soldering with loose contact in the unit.
