Victron Smart Solar bricked

Hi there

I connected to my Smart Solar unit, and noticed there was a firmware update, which I applied. Since then the icon for the device in the Victron Connect app has changed to a small black rectangle with some text and the options page with the MPPT charger profile settings has gone.

I can connect to the device using the app, but it only take me to a basically static page which looks like this:whatsapp-image-2024-06-16-at-151755.jpeg

I have tried updating the Victron Connect app to the latest version, I have removed and added the device from my phone. I cannot reapply the firmware or factory reset the device.


Any help would be appreciated.

That is the Bluetooth icon. So it seems something went wrong.

You get that one when the Bluetooth interface needs updating as well. But it seems that is not the issue here.

Do you see anything via the instant readout?

Have you tried the good old fashioned power cycle?

Disconnect solar

Disconnect battery

Wait a few minutes

Connect battery

Check with app

If working + connect solar.

If not working that is a warranty return.

Thanks! The power cycling worked! Everything is back.
