Orion XS 12/12-50 software reset

My Orion XS yesterday restarted itself without any apparent reason. I could hear the engine revolutions increase for a couple of seconds, saw that the current flow into the battery had stopped (previously charging at full power), and then everything went back to normal (engine revs and XS charging). Looking at the app, I've seen one finished charge cycle (stopped due to "Software-Reset"), exactly 1h 0m long. What could be the cause for this behaviour?

Has anyone found out more information on this 'software reset' seen in history? My Orion XS 12/12-50 has done multiple software resets. Charging is interrupted and the process starts again. I'm running the latest firmware as of the date of this comment. Anyone? Victron? Thanks.

Have had three "software resets" like yours - have tried lowering the output setting, but seems to have made little difference....

A continuous 5hr drive was broken into multiple cycles 12 completed - 10 Powered off - 4 Software Reset.

Have since changed input output to 40amp in 30 amp out to see what happens......

Hey all, end of last week we released Orion XS firmware v1.05, announced just now here: https://professional.victronenergy.com/news/detail/270/.

And we expect that this solves your issues. The previously mentioned release, v1.04 a few weeks back, fixed some, but not all. Hence now v1.05.

Thank you for all the detailed reports, that helped a lot in getting to the bottom of this.

Same here - reported months ago. BMS Technologies have my old unit back due to this, and it was consistently rebooting the "comms" every 10-15 seconds.

Thanks for the reports, and apologies for the issues.

There is now a new v1.04 firmware for the Orion XS for the history and software reset issues,


Changelog:

Start displaying warning #67 BMS Connection lost. Previous fw version (v1.03) was not displaying the warning, even though the warning was internally activated. While active, the charger will be kept at "Float" state, with a fix 12V output voltage setpoint.

Improve non-volatile memory management by fixing a bug that could potentially cause memory corruption when flashing the history or settings data.


Improvements:

Remove auto equalisation support. On previous FW versions, when equalisation was enabled, the charger would perform equalisation every charge cycle, which is not healthy for the battery. Now only the manual equalisation is supported.

Allow VE.Smart Networking to be configured over VE.Direct.



This firmware file is available now for a manual update in Victron Professional.


It has not yet been announced widely. Please download and test this new version and report back with your results.

I am experiencing almost the same issue in power supply mode on v1.04. Nothing is showing up in the log, but it is periodically losing power for ~1s every couple hours.
