Possible to silence fan based on load?

Silence fan assistant is only discussed in the context of using an external switch. Is it possible to use programmable relay, k1 as follows:

K1 NO/COM connected to Aux1.

When load < 300W, K1 closes closing Aux 1, fan silenced.

When load > 300W, K1 opens opening Aux 1, fan not silenced.

Will this work?

Should do.

You might want to add some hysteresis so the threshold to turn back on is higher e.g. 400W, this will prevent it hunting on and off if the power is hovering around the 300W point.

Thanks. 300W is off the top of my head. The actual value will depend on what the typical overnight load is.

The intent is to automate overnight silencing of the fan when loads would tend to be lowest.
