No realtime data on VRM Portal

Since this morning no realtime data is showing on the main page of the VRM Portal. It seems to be refresh problem.

However on the remote console, I can see the realtime data.

The access to the Controls is not working neither. Is trying to connect and at the end a message "No realtime connection available" is popping up.

Someone else having the same behaviour?

Generally if it can't connect in real-time (and this is required for the controls to work) it is down to a bad internet connection.

Check the basics, like wifi strength (if you're not wired), or try a lan cable, reboot the cerbo, or even your home router.

When this is a VRM issue, it will affect a lot of people and we tend to know about it.

Thanks for your prompt advice, but it would be too nice to be true.

I am on a lan (not on wifi). I restarted my home router and restarted the Cerbo. I have a good internet connection.

Behaviour on VRM portal: In the dashboard under the label "Last updated" I see first "realtime" and than it is suddenly switching to "connecting". Afterwards it changes to eg "a few seconds ago".

Yesterday, I configured D-ESS with dynamic prices (before I had a fixed price contract) for Belgium. Something related?
The VRM portal is updating but not realtime. I didn't change anything on the communication settings.

Could you give me more advice on that topic? Before never had a problem on that matter.

Which version are you on? Did you update recently? If so, try rollback to the backup version.

Also under settings vrm, try disable the vrm option, then enable it again.

For DESS, please look at the dedicated beta thread in the modifications section.

If you are not using the beta cerbo software, you really need to update to it for DESS to work (more) reliably - I am aware there have been issues recently.

Hi, I am having the very same problem and symptoms, starting from maybe the same time -- I first noticed it two days ago but hadn't used my Real Time settings for a week or two. It's not the network, something else is wrong. Have you figured it out? TIA

Hi

@GuntherB - I checked your site and VRM realtime data appeared to work. Does it happen periodically, or consistently? Could you try on another machine with a different network connection (such as your phone on 4G)?

@Whafa - I checked your site and could not get VRM realtime data to work, I have forwarded it to the VRM team to investigate

Hi Guy, not sure whether it was your intervention or just random chance, but my VRM Real Time menu came back today. I've been checking periodically, not necessarily daily but it was fairly recently still broken. Either way, problem solved and please extend my thanks to the techs who fixed it, if appropriate! Thanks to you, too!

Thanks for reporting back. I am not sure if anything was changed on our end, though I know that engineers did investigate.

Thanks for your answer. In the meantime, all works fine. I upgraded to the latest beta version. I changed also the buy and sell formula, because the formula wasn't correct.

Hi @nyhaddad

Is this now resolved?

Yes Sort of! It still does it from time to time (shows connection a few seconds ago or a few minutes). I reboot the Cerbo (power it off for ten seconds) and then it connects realtime.

If you get tired of doing that, next time you find it stuck in this state, and after it has persisted for at least 24 hours, leave it stuck and please @ mention me so I can ask the team to have a look at what might be the cause.

Just to add another voice to this - I have not seen the realtime data menu for a while now - so would be interested to know why and if there is a fix. I've been managing without - but was interested to give DESS a try and that but the option to toggle it on in the VRM settings menu is greyed out. I've upgraded to 3.31 on Cerbo to try to address both, but makes not difference.

Hi!

@Guy Stewart (Victron Community Manager)

Could you check my vrm account also?? I am having the same issue since March.

If I reboot my Cerbo, Real Time start to work but only for a few minutes...after these minutes I loose Real Time and also Remote Consolé.

I checked almost everything:

-enable/disable vrm bidirectional comunication

-rebrote cerbo & router severas times

-change router

-change to lan

-stop all flows in node red

-diablesa node red

-firmware backup downgrade

I do not know how to solve the issue and I am starting to think about there is something strange in my vrm site...

Thanks!

Hi, same thing here. Portal gets updated each five minutes (as Cerbo is set to do), but realtime does not work. Concurrently Remote console works realtime normally. Another Cerbo with identical FW (last Venus OS Large) also on mobile data 50m away from the "bad" one works normally.

I will recheck both on single network within next week, to see, if there is any difference.

Hi @KarelHolubicka,

I am following up on this, are you still experiencing issues with realtime or are they now resolved?

Well, it magically resolved itself - don't know how exactly, probably after Cerbo reboot. This car is currently offline, so I cannot re-check, but should be working normally now. Thanks for your attention, Karel

Same'ish issue here.

Have been running a RaspPi fine for a year or more. Decided to grab a Cerbo to replace it to have some more ports. I swapped it in, got the firmware updated. Plugged in my inverter and shunt.. Was working ok for a couple of days. Now I cannot get live working.

Thougths @KarelHolubicka ?

Thanks

Mike

Hi @Bedpan,

The best thing to do is start from the beginning, confirm all the required settings are correct here:

https://www.victronenergy.com/media/pg/VRM_Portal_manual/en/real-time-data.html#UUID-2b41a404-bd90-55fe-5025-80196d315dde

Once you've confirmed, if you still have the issue please report back and I'll have a closer look.

@Guy Stewart (Victron Community Manager)

Working now thanks for the link. It seemed to resolve itself mainly with better wifi. Saying that I had to disable 2 way comms then turn it back on again as well..

Thanks!

Hmm, no thoughts here. After the initial solution, the problem never come back. If you have remote console working, and just realtime is dead, I'd start with reboot :-). Otherwise it is different issue.

The wifi is a bit weak out in the trailer. But even if I can connect to the remote console I still do not get live updates in the VRM.

Thanks!

Hi @Guy Stewart (Victron Community Manager) we have the same issue as described above. Have tried rebooting and toggling VRM updates, and have contacted our installer. Any thoughts or insight would be appreciated.

TIA

Pete

@Guy Stewart (Victron Community Manager) same here:

I have a Cerbo and it's now in V3.41 version. The VRM Dashboard is lost connection and I failed to open remote console using VRM portal. But the remote console can be logged in using ip address and it is working well.

I got this error "This site has stopped reporting to VRM. Check the internet connection to the GX device." and in alarmlogs it shows: VRM logging stopped. I don't understand what kind of internet connection should I check and how to check it remotely?
