MPPT loses connection sporadically

I own an Easysolar II GX 24/3000 and the internally installed MPPT seems to lose connection sporadically. Sometimes it runs for days, sometimes it happens several times a day and then only a reboot of the GX helps. Very very annoying and certainly not in the spirit of the inventor. The problem is now over umpteen firmware versions and I am so slowly but surely quite annoyed. It would be nice if someone here has a solution, because the system otherwise runs great. I'm also glad to provide logs, if you tell me where I can find them and which ones they should be exactly.

Attachments: Up to 8 attachments (including images) can be used with a maximum of 190.8 MiB each and 286.6 MiB total.

I'd try either changing the ve-direct cable from the gx to the MPPt, or plug the cable into an alternate Ve-direct port on the Gx. Not impossible for the cable to have a dodgy connector - these are very small.
