How to update Ve bus quattro when ve bus BMS connected

So I have a ve bus BMS connected to the system and it says I should remove the RJ 45 cable before remote updating the vebus quattro. The problem is once I remove the cable the internet goes off because the router is connected to the inverter power. How can I resolve this? Also my quattro firmware version is 460, should I update to 490?

You have to make the locally with a MK3 interface connected to the Quattro or you need to power your router from an external power supply.

Can I still do it remotely if I could get someone to keep the internet connection live and unplug the BMS?

It should work but I never done that and I would recommend to do the update locally or don't update at all. If you run into a problem during the update you may end up with a non functional system and have to go there to fix it locally.

"Never change a running system" - If you don't have any problems or you need some of the new features in the newer FW, don't update.

Most changes/fixes/improvements are related to the MultiPlus-II and the use in an ESS.
