Shunt Tripping under large load

Hi, I just hooked up and used my smart shunt and Lithium Ion battery for my boat but my windless anchor always trips the shunt and lose all my DC till I remove and reinstate the negative cable on the battery. The load is about 70A and there aren’t any other significant loads running. Tried it 3 or 4 times with the same outcome. The shunt is good for 500A so should be fine but perhaps something to do with the voltage drop or parameter setting, maybe another part? Not sure but hopefully someone has experienced something similar that would be kind enough to share with me. Thanks

You are tripping the BMS in the battery.

The shunt is just a precise resistor and can't "trip" or disconnect the load.

As klim8skeptic wrote the internal BMS of your battery is cutting off.

What battery do you have?
