Smart Shunt sensor wires.

I'm sure this is a really simple question about the 500a Smart Shunt but better safe than sorry.

Will I run into issues if I switch out the sensor wires to ones that are longer?

My batteries are in 2 different parts of my truck but I would like to be able to monitor both of them.

I plan on using an in line fuse just like the original ones just longer and a 16ga gauge wire.

That will probably be fine. I'm sure you intend to have the fuse as close to the battery as possible?
16 AWG (I think that is abot 1.2mm²) would be good.
