Which charger to choose

Hi,


I have 8 PV panels 540W. Each 4 PVs are connected in series. The total power is 4320W. Should I go for the 250/70 charger(Pnom 4000W) or 250/85 (Pnom 4900W)? What do you recommend.

Knowing your battery voltage would be helpful.

I am assuming it is 48v system.

You have (540w x 8) ÷ 55v (assumed voltage) = 78Amps potential charge.

So slightly above the 250/70 charge ability. If a bit of peak shaving doesnt bother you then that will do.

250/85 is better. You can check what is recommended bu victron using the page below.
