Can someone tell me what the difference is between the compact and the non compact version?
The physical dimensions are slightly different. Compact one is aluminium, the other one is steel.
The non compact one also comes in a 48V version.
It's difficult to gauge what differences would be important to you, so you'll have to compare the datasheets to compare parameters for your self.
After reading the manuals for both versions I notice the the non compact version doesn’t state that’s it’s ok to mount horizontally. Can anyone confirm if this is not allowed with this model? I checked the manual for the 12/3000 and it’s has the usual comment about can mount either horizontally or vertically.
My solution was to mount it in a way that the top and the bottom air inlets are in different air pockets, forcing air through the device.
Runs for hours under high load without getting hot, therefore i dont see a problem with that.
