CCGX modbus TCP

Hi, All

I am very new for modbus and cannot understand the modbus TCP register table on victron website. I downloaded a modbus slave simulator and set a IP address 192.168.56.1 for my modbus slave and gave him a ID 1 function 03. 100 quantity. I want to CCGX to read those values as modbus client throughTCP. I manfully set IP address for CCGX same as my slave and connect my PC to CCGX ethernet port. I manually added slave in CCGX. When I go to Modbus/tcp, it is an error called" error processing function code 3 unit id 1, start address 5000 quantity 1 src 192.168.56.1, modbus address 5000 is not registered." I ordered some ds1820b temperature sensors with modbus TCP on the way, I would like to let ccgx read the temperature values. Any one have an idea how to set up and make it is work. Thanks

Hi, I am new to Victron devices but have used Modbus for a long time.

As far as I am aware, I think the CCGX is a Modbus Slave (Server) and can't operate as a Modbus Master (Client). If I am wrong, I am sure one of the tech people will correct my comment ;).

You also wrote that you set Ethernet port of CCGX to same IP address as PC. If I have understood correctly, this will cause an IP conflict. IP addresses need to be different but on the same subnet (street). So, PC could be 192.168.56.10 and CCGX can be 192.168.56.11, but not the same!

Hope this helps.
