Connecting BMV 712 to Raspberry pi

Hello everyone,

I need to connect BMV712 to Raspberry pi to monitor battery voltages.

I have a few questions,

Can I use python code instead of using victron OS on raspberry pi?

Should I use VE.directbto usb cable?
