How to reset a Color Control on VRM?

Hi. We have since replaced a color control with a Venus GX at a client's site because the client fell out with the company that installed it about 3 years ago. We would wish to use it elsewhere but of course we don't have admin rights. Is there any way this color control can be rooted so that we can utilize in another site @mvader (Victron Energy Staff)

To enable root access on a Venus-device (such as the CCGX) follow the steps on this Venus Live manual -

Venus OS: Root Access

However, Your question may have more to do with the Admin control on the VRM Portal, rather than the device itself. If you wish to modify the Administrator of the VRM site, you will need to contact your distributor and have them follow up through their Victron Manager.

For obvious security reasons this is not something available to end-users and will need proof of purchase etc.

Thanks Guy for your quick response. You are absolutely right; my question has got more to do with Admin control on the VRM portal. As you have suggested, we shall have to send the unit to our distributor for further assistance.

Hi, no need to send it; just contact them. The point that needs doing is prove that you really have that unit.

Hi, it’s best not to publish that VRM portal id publicly. Contact CAT again, and tell them Victron can reset the unit for you.
