Power issue with Multiplus Compact in ESS System

Hello,

I'm using a Multi C 24/1600/40 in ESS configuration. Everything works fine, but the Multis max. Output Power is about 1050W. img-20210121-220350.jpgIn the datasheet normal Power of 1300W is written. If I disconnect ACin, the Multi works fine with about 1500W for short time. screenshot-20210121-221120-comandroidchrome.jpgWhen I reconnect ACin an the load of my House exceeded 2000W, and no Inverter Limits are set, the Multi Power ist max. 1050W to Grid. screenshot-20210121-220332-comandroidchrome.jpgBecause i run an AC Couplet PV Inverter I test it at night, by set "Grid Power" to -1500w for short time. Is this normal? If it, I wish to see a little note in the Datasheet that in ESS no 1300W possible, if not, can someone tell me about an issue? My config was already seen by distributor and he said it's fine.

Thank you

I would suspect you are going into over load and thus the Inverter is Derating.

the Multiplus 1600 range is 1600VA (Not watts) at 25Deg C , so if the units tempature increases above 25Deg C then the 1600VA max Limit decreases.

The installation of the multi is in my cellar with about 17degrees room temperature. I thought that the multi will switch to overload above 15 or 30 seconds, but the output power does not exceed 1050W for 1 second...

screenshot-20210123-105113.jpg

Here you can see that even if it's 40 degrees, it should generate 1200W...

Try it on a resistive load IE a water heater,

also whats the Internal temp, is the cooling fan turning on when needed.

It depends on input volt as well so if the volts drop then the current increases, this also has a limiting factor as well

another problem is whats running and whats the Power factor if the item has Hi leading or lagging power factor this will also reduce max output.

Please be aware I am not saying these are your issues, just giving you some pointers to look at

Another one to look at is the internal cut off voltage setting if thats been changed then it could be set at two high a voltage should be around 20 volts.

you will need a KM3 to look at that

Or in the ESS have you set a limit inverter power ????.

this is overriden in the ESS assistant, so check the settings there (the below is a example of a 48 volt system)

Or via VRM.

In VRM there is only the Venus Config, or which way I can see the multi params?

In the VRM go to the Device list

select remote VE Configure

Download the file NOTE save the file do not open it.

Then open the file that was saved with VE configure, then do your changes. save the file,

Then upload the file

In VRM (website), go to "Device list" and there you have "Remote VEConfigure".

Download the file and open it with VE Configure 3 software.

You can look at the settings or you can even make changes and upload it back.

If you like, I send you my vsc file. No secrets in there. I test it with a technical hot air dryer which I can set to 80, 970, and 1500W, so it it a Ohmic load. On ACout without grid, no problem, but with grid connection in ESS only 1050W compensate by Multi. As I wrote in my first question, there is no limit set to inverter while the test runs.

sure I can have a quick look, but update your firmware and check the ESS cutoff voltages first and try again

I looked at my cutoff Voltage,

and fw. Versions:

Venus fw: 2.60

Multi fw : 430

If the Multi ist latest, i can´t say...

So on battery you can Get full output

when connected to mains max 1080

Try this

with mains on

load it upto the max load. and hold it there

then go to the GX device and look at settings and then the MUltiplus,

look at the AC in voltage. whats its reading

do the same test with the Grid turned off.

you may have BAD voltage SAG or something
