I have a MPPT 100/50. the manual says terminals must face down. I have mounted the unit upside down to allow better cable connection to the inverter etc. is this going to be an issue?

sorry so the MPPT unit will be mounted vertically but upside.

Hi @Tonka99

I've moved your question to the normal ' questions and answers'


Moving upside down is risky: it makes it easy for water to flow into the controller, destroying the controller and possibly putting PV voltage onto the battery output with it (ask me how I know...)

I've seen an installation where water was seeping -trough- the PV cable and entering the MPPT controller, not good...

Yes, water will "wick" inside the plastic sheath, along the wire strands. Capillary action...
