Connecting Fronius to Color Control GX CCGX

Hi

Setting up a AC coupled primo and colourgx

There must be a easy way of setting up a hardwired situation between the two to allow them to communicate with each other ?

Has anyone any experience with these

As the site it’s going on to needs to be treated like it has no internet no WiFi or router access.

Tried just plugging the two together with a network switch with no success

Regards

Hi @mikeb,

have a look at:

ccgx:ccgx_fronius

I have (co) written an explanation there. Maybe you post what is not so good to understand, or may be written better and I could improve this manual.

Thank you!

PS.: It is also possible to connect the Fronius to a WiFi. Refer to it's manual to see how.

Hi thanks for the reply

Not having any success with the link have been trying to follow it.

Is there just a simpler way that’s being over looked

For example connecting the colour gx to the fronuis using the modbus connection block of the fronuis data manager

Not confident that all this ip addressing etc there won’t be drop outs of communication

The situation is I don’t want to connect the primo or the colour gx to WiFi think is to unreliable and have had the fronuis and colour gx connected with a router and still experiencing the fronuis being lost off the colour gx even tho they have been connected for over 12-13 hours

With a hard wired connection similar to the old way the byd allow to charge and discharge connection was made to the inverter would be a lot more reliable

If you have only one Fronius unit, connect it directly to the CCGX using a LAN cable.

You shouldn't have to care about IP addresses because Link-local addressing should work when you have the latest firmware running on the CCGX.

Should be as easy as "Plug and Play"

Was this recent?

This Link-local stuff behavior was recently changed in Venus Firmware.

If that was some time ago, please try again with last available firmware.

Do you see a IP address when you look in settings --> Ethernet? If yes, which one?
