Hello,
I would like to limit my Fronius Galvo export to zero , but have "Feed-in excess solar charger power" turned on as to only use the DC coupled solar for export, not the AC coupled.
Would this work?
Thanks!

Hi @Isaac Shannos,
Generally yes. The grid feed in does differentiate between AC and DC Solar, and they can be enabled and disabled independently in the Grid feed-in submenu of the ESS menu in the GX device settings.
I have not tested this specifically with the Fronius Galvo though. The Galvo is now specifically not recommended in new installations.
Hi Guy,
Thanks for your response. I didn't know this setting was available in ESS, it must've been in the last few updates.. Is there a GX change log I can access? I won't go into the details but I nearly ordered relays and contactors to set up some homebrew export limiting. If I had known there was a GX update with these new options I could've saved a lot of time.
Regards,
Hi @Isaac Shannos,
It’s a double edged sword announcing beta features early, they can take a LOT a longer than expected to finally ship.
Public beta testing is offered in the Modification space, there is a sticky at the top when a public beta is happening.
There is a change log of new features for all products in Victron Professional / Firmware
Major new features are also promoted in the regular email newsletters sent to Victron distributors.
There are also usually blog posts, which are promoted on the front page of the website, and our social media channels (Facebook, Instagram, linked in).
Hello,
I too have a system with MPPT DC charger and Fronius Galvo. In my case I have disabled DC feed-in and allow the Galvo to feed-in the grid up to 300W.
In principle this works but the Galvo seems to have an internal problem as the limitation function works on some days and sometimes it does not.
The Victron tech guys already checked their part and everything seems to be ok. The fronius guys are currently analyzing log files and so on for a while too. The conclusion is so far, that the fronius gets all the necessary values from the GX device but does not react on it (reason unknown).
So it would be cool if you could test the grid feed-in limitation for a while, to check whether your Galvo is working properly or has the same problem as mine?
Best regards
Rainer
