Temperature sensor connected to MultiPlus-II used for LFP batteris

My all 3 units came with temperature sensors.

In one of webinars someone said that temperature sensor is not needed for LFP batteries.

On the other hand the LFP batteries should not be charged below 5C.

Can this temperature sensor be used to prevent charging of the LFP batteries below 5C?

What batteries do you have?

Disconnecting/deactivating the charge should be done by the BMS.

Winston with 123smartBMS Gen3.

But if this charger can modify charging parameters for led-acid bateries, why not controling the charging of LFP batery based on temperature?

I'm not 100% sure, but the Multi can only measure the temperature where the sensor is connected and the BMS (should) monitors the temperature of every single cell.

Yes, you are correct.

That is the way it measures the temperature of led-acid battery.

It should be able to measure the temperature of LFP battery the same way.

The accuracy of this measurement should be ok, especially when I have 3 temperature sensors and I can place them in different spots of the battery.
