Temperature difference of charger & batteries?

Coming this winter, my batteries & charger are in a not well insulated shed. I have a heater to keep the shed above 32 f being I have plumbing in there & the batteries will be inside a blanket of insulation with pad heaters under them to keep them at around 70 f but the charger will be at whatever the shed temp will be which could be near freezing.

I found the manual says batteries & charger should have no more than a 5c difference. What type of issues will occur if it's not & what can I do to avoid problems?

I have a bluetooth battery temp sensor but I can't get it to link to the charger for some reason. Would a working sensor solve this problem?
