Bluetooth dongle VS VE.direct

Hi,

I have a Bluesolar MPPT 100/50 and a bluetooth dongle.

I would like to spare the VE.direct port to use it for a BMV712 and Raspberry Pi project.

Is there a way to split/duplicate the VE.direct port to both use the bluetooth dongle and free up a port for further connectivity?

Or there is no way around other than upgrading the mppt to a smart one?

Many thanks

VE.Direct is a serial point-to-point (Direct) protocol and cannot be split.
The only way to have Bluetooth and VE.Direct connectivity simultaneously is to use a newer Smart device.

However, if you plan to run Venus on your RaspberryPi then it will be possible to connect to your VE.Direct MPPT using VictronConnect via the VRM tab (rather than the Local tab) from within VictronConnect.

Thanks @WKirby, if I manage to connect RaspberryPi to the VE.direct MPPT. on accessing the VictronConnect VRM tab, this connection will be local (Via the pie bluetooth) or I have to connect the Pi to the internet? Many thanks
