Am I understanding this correctly?
The RS485 victron cable does not have a rj45 attached to the end and I need to add it my self using only the orange, yellow and black wires?
What do I do with the other colour wires?
Thanks

Ok found the answer buried in the doc

The new meters have 2 RJ45 sockets for the Modbus RS485 connection. But they are not used. Note the possible confusion because of yet another RJ-45 socket in the Victron world though. Don't mix that with VE.Bus, VE.Can or VE.net. Besides the RJ-45 sockets, the meters still also have screw terminals access below the sockets for the RS485 wiring, which is how we advise to connect a meter to the RS485 to USB interface and then CCGX.
There is a wealth of information if you do a quick search. https://www.victronenergy.com/live/energy-meters:et112
The question I asked has nothing to do with energy meter. The link you sent is all bout energy meter. Thanks
Good day. Please can I use this cable (USB-RS485-WE from Victron) to query BYD 13.8 through the RS485 Port of the BMS? If yes, how can I terminate the 6 cables to RJ45 port?
To connect a BYD battery to the Victron system (to a GX device) you should use a CANbus type A cable.
