EasySolar-II GX with additional components and lithium battery, where does everything connect?

Hello,
we want to install a new EasySolar-II GX 48/3000/35-32 with MPPT 250/70, 4 LiFePO4 Battery 12,8V/200Ah-a - Smart, V.E. Bus BMS and BMV-700.

  • The BMS will connect to EasySolar with VE Bus and will program the assistant BMS.
  • The BMV will connect to V.E Direct port in EasySolar(?) and if yes, the V.E Direct non inverting cable from MPPT to BMS where will install?
  • Maybe we don't need this non inverting cable and GX manage MPPT from BMS?

Thank you!
Best regards.

@Alexis Kalogerakis

Since the Solar charge controller is built in, the GX device will already controll the MPPT. This will be based on the SOC directed by its 'own internal system or the BMV when you install it. So the BMV will not need to be directly connected to the MPPT.

https://www.victronenergy.com/upload/documents/Datasheet-EasySolar-II-48-3000-35-32-MPPT-250-70-GX-EN.pdf See this document for the connection design.

What are you using the smart V.E. Bus BMS for? do the LifePo4 batteries not have built in BMS? If you are able to eliminate this item from the system design, then your port shortage problem is solved.

Your other option is to buy a VE Direct to USB able and use the usb port on the Easy II, if you are determined to plug everything in somewhere.

  • CANbus BMS is an option, for BMS such as the REC SI.
  • Dumb / passive BMS such as the older Daly BMSes, that don't do any communication with your EasySolar / Multiplus. (not my preferred option for Lithium ion, but possible at least)
