Replace Schaudt LRM1218 MMPT connected to EBL 119 with Victron Energy SmartSolar

Hi - as the title suggests I want to replace the Schaudt LRM1218 MMPT controller which is connected to a Schaudt EBL119 with a Victron energy smart controller probably the 100v 15amp 12/24-volt model
Ideally I would like to simply unplug the LRM1218 and fit the Victron smart controller in its place
Is this possible ?
I am unable to access battery very easily as seat needs to be removed

Yes, it can be done, but you will lose the charging of the starter battery if its a straight swap, so this should be done with maybe a 100/20 SmartSolar, and the load output connected to a small trickle charger, or simply fit a smaller solar panel just for the starter battery.

Hi Thanks for the reply
Indeed it is the starter battery that I was most concerned about - over winter when van parked up the starter battery would frequently go flat - with the addition of the 130w solar and LRM1218 this stopped happening - What I would like is detail as to how much charge etc I am getting from the panel hence the interest in changing to a Bluetooth MMPT that also does starter battery which I was hoping this did as a straight swop
