EKranoGX refuses establish a stable link to VRM Portal

EKrano GX with firmware 3.32 stopped connecting to VRM portal via victron lte Modem. error was (155 routing error)

found that victron claimed to have fixed this in firmware change logs!

so upgraded to 3.41 after reboot of firmware nothing -- so tried a cold/power off reboot ( we got some life here ) unit was powered off over night failed to connect next morning when turned back on -- started to get issues with ethernet port and SSH access all went down - so could do nothing.

I was Forced to do a factory reset - and reload sw and firmware - was able to reload firemware from web via victron LTE modem but that was all after that it didnt work again. setting> GSM modem shows modem was connected and OK.

error in VRM portal of setting on GX is 153 error

please note: all parts of the modem / sim card have been replaced and tested on other Cerbo MK2 systems on site running the same version firmware.(3.41)

The only thing left is the firmware being supplied for the EK.


Any ideas as to when or how this issue can be resolved.???

We have not been able to reproduce the issue, and not had any other customers with this issue that have reached us.

While I am asking -- is there any way to allow two GXs to use the same LTE modem to communicate with the VRM portal??? I realise it uses a USB port.

Just means it there isnt a way .. Then I need to buy a third party sim router.

Hi @Fantail,

Thanks for the detailed troubleshooting you've already done. I've asked a colleague to have a look at your report.

Victron doesn't support more than 1 GX device using the same USB LTE modem directly. So you'd need another device of some sort, but sorry I don't have any further details on how.

Used a third party device to solve issue and removed the victron modem... learnings is to not use victron modems on larger systems in future. For a little more you get much better reliablitiy and faster service. Have always supported victron up until now with their products but have had a number of unnecessary issues recently caused by their lack of care and attention to detail.
