VEConfigure and VE.Bus Smart Dongle Bluetooth

I ordered the bluetooth smart dongle so my computer and VEConfigure would allow me to modify the Multiplus-II 2x120 12V/3000/50, but the VEConfigure software appears to only accept COM ports. I'm guessing from this app being an old Windows Forms app that it is so old and outdated that it simply doesn't have the ability to connect with bluetooth devices. Is this correct?

If so, I'm on a Mac running OSX Sonoma (14.5) and am running the software via Parallels on a Windows 11 Pro instance. Has anyone configured a bluetooth device to present itself as a COM port to Windows? If so, does the smart bluetooth dongle have the ability to pass the COM port communication through it's existing protocol stack? I'm not a bluetooth engineer, so I'm limited on my existing knowledge. Please educate me.

The MultiPlus (any VE.Bus device) requires a wired connection, it cannot be programmed via BT.

The MK3-USB Interface is the product to use for that.
