Orion Tr-Smart switched H pin on output battery

My Orion Tr-Smart Non-Isolated was working fine using switched ignition wire to the H-pin from the input battery. I'm trying to flip this around and use the H-pin to turn on/off the Orion based on an output battery on/off (isolation) swith. Currently I have both the H-pin and output battery switched by the output battery on/off switch.

What I'm finding, with the H-pin connected through the output battery on/off switch, the Orion will turn-on, but it does not turn off when disconnecting the output battery (turn off the switch) and the disconnecting the H-pin.

I read on other posts that you can control the Orion On/Off by supplying 3vdc or 7vdc (override engine detect) on the H-pin. If that's the case, then the H-pin can be switched by either the input or output battery voltages. Is this true or does the Orion need the same input battery voltage? That would explain why the Orion turns on, since it seeing a change from 0-13v on the H-pin.

Because it doesn't turn off may be due to both the H-pin is turned off AND the output battery is disconnected. In this case the Orion doesn't sense a voltage difference so it does not turn off. This is what I'm seeing.

Please confirm that the Orion can be controlled by 3v/7v on the H-pin from either the input or output battery. If not, I may have to revert to a relay across L-H controlled by my switched output battery.

Thanks, Don

To follow-up, I connected the output battery directly to the Orion (as per the manual) AND used the output battery on/off switch to control the Orion via the H-pin. When turning on/off the switch, the Orion turns on/off as expected.

To answer my question - it doesn't seem to matter the source of the +12vdc on the H-pin to turn on/off the Orion. Additionally, if the output battery is disconnected after turning on the Orion, it may not turn off via the H-pin logic.

Thanks for looking,

Don
