3K Inverter Temperature Ratings

On a victron 3k 120V inverter, does the output power at X temperature reference the inverters internal temperature or the ambient temperature of the air around it. I am seeing that its efficiency in power output decreases at 77°, 104°, and 150° and just want to clarify where the temperature measurement is being taken from.

Ambient obviously affects operating temperature. So it matters. So does air flow.

The temperature measurement are taken all over the unit. It is mentioned in the paper above.

For example. The temperature of the heatsink with the fets on it are allowed to reach 80°C. At which point the system shuts down - you will have received temperature warning long before then though.

I have measured air at over 130°C out of the top of a unit (not your model). But that is not an indicator of internal temps at the measurement points.

Temperature performance also is affected by altitude, and if you’re significantly above sea-level all those “standard” performance specs will reduce.
