Lithium cells are probably more robust than lead cells.
But cell interconnects are a problem with both types.
Physical cell encapsulation is also needed for both types to prevent swelling/movement.
Build your own battery? (I did).

Actually they vary and it depends on the battery construction, there are a number of ways of constructing a lithium battery. In general, pouch cell construction is the worst followed by prismatic, then cylindrical. Regarding cylindrical, the smaller the cells the more robust but cylindrical size is a trade off between manufacturing costs and size.
Hello, The lithium are quite equal to AGM, but be aware that extreme socks and vibration can cause failure on both chemistries.
