Is Victron EasySolar-II black start capable? (battery broken or not available)

Hello,

is the Is

Victron EasySolar II 48/5000/70-50 MPPT 250/100 GX

  • black start capable? (battery broken or not available)
  • meaning: will it power on if only the solar panels are connected?
  • can it be programmed to run with only 1x (12V) 2x (24V) 3x( 36V) batteries in case of emergency? (as the smaller victron charge controllers can be programmed to)
  • also: how many 400W panels can be connected to it?
    • 250V PV Input max / 40V = 6.25 Panels?

just asking :D

@UltimateSolar

Using 12v 24v no. 36v if programmed to restart there.

Black start from PV only if there is enough PV, but not recommended.

A black start ideally is mppt charges battery (wakes up battery) then inverter restarts at pre programmed restart voltage. If the battery is missing (blown fuse etc) sometimes the bus can be powered up enough to start the inverter however if there are large loads the power pack capacitor bank wont be able to do the surge and will trip.

Since the inverter is designed to work with a battery not designed to run like that a long time.

Mppt sizing 250v if the 100A one 100A x battery voltage is the ideal amount of PV to install. Need to make sure you dont over volt the i out or over amp the input. Look at the spec sheets for the mppt and use the online calculator. It is not as easy as your final statement there is temperature co efficient and a few other things to look into as well.
