Open the Victron Connect app and go to the demo library and look up the product you are working with.

You will find the setting for the battery under AC input control. Battery specific information in section 10.5.4.

ok i see, thanks, so basically these aren't found in veconfig?

I know they can be seen in the the "ignore AC input:VS on=ignore; VS off=do not ignore" virtual switch, but they are greyed out and cannot be changed. Only time (sec) can be changed there, whereas in Vconnect these can be changed.

This manual is specifically for VictronConnect. I have re-written the paragraphs to hopefully make it a bit clearer, and asked for the document you linked to be updated as well.

When the 'Enable charger' switch is turned off the inverter and assist functions of the Multi will continue to operate, but it will no longer charge; the charging current will be zero.

Disabling charge functionality will mean 100% self-consumption, you may wish to do this when there is a large enough solar array connected and it is expensive to charge the batteries from the grid.

Lead-acid batteries have a low charge efficiency. About 20% of the energy used to charge the batteries is lost in the form of heat. Some installers therefore prefer to disable the charger functionality of the Multi and only charge with solar.

When the charger functionality is disabled and the Multi is accepting the grid, it will supply the loads with grid power, but will not charge the batteries. The batteries will only receive charge from the MPPT charge controllers.

In this type of system it is very important to have a large enough solar array. It is also important that the 'Connect when battery voltage drops below' setting in the AC input control menu of VictronConnect is set high enough to make sure that the battery has some extra charge left should there be a blackout.

Yes i understand all the other stuff mentioned. My issue was with that one random sentence that didn't have any reference to any settings it was mentioning or where to find them.

As mentioned and after much searching, i could see them using the virtual switch, but then, couldn't edit them in VEconfig, which caused even more confusion as i then tried to find where they were being overridden from.

So as @Alexandra mentioned, this seems to only be found in Victron Connect, which creates even more issues as you now have to jump between to software programs to edit settings, whereas i though VEconfig would have everything required.
