Victron Connect App on Android 7.0

Hi. First post to the forum!

I have just bought a Victron Blue Smart IP65 Charger 5 Amp.

I know I can use it straight out of the box like any other charger but I would really like to access the additional info that can be displayed on a smart phone using the Victron Connect App. Herein lies the problem.

The App available in the Google Play Store says it will not work on my phone. I am assuming that this is because my phone is quite old and running Android 7.0. The phone OS cannot be upgraded and I do not want to buy a new phone!

On the Victron website (on the Downloads/Software page) it shows .apk files which suggest they are for a version of the app which will run on my phone. Is this correct?

The 2 files in question are:

(v5.106) – Android version 5/6/7 .apk (armv7)

(v5.106) – Android version 5/6/7 .apk (x86)

Which of these 2 files should I download to my phone?

And if anyone can point me to instructions detailing how to install the app from the apk file that would be great.

Any help would be much appreciated :o)

George.

@GTL

Depends on your phone os. So cant be answered here.

Download and try is the only way. If it is wrong you will just get an 'unable to parse' error message. And nothing will happen

There is an archive for older versions.

Firmware updates wont be possible and maybe a bunch of features, but basic connect should be.
