Multiplus lithium charge profile outside 5 - 40 °C

In the manual for configuration of multiplus with victronconnect the manual says this about the lithium mode.

Temperature compensation Charge voltage are not increased or decreased within normal temperature ranges (5°C - 40°C) for lithium batteries. Enabling Lithium mode will disable the normal built in temperature compensation features that are used for lead acid batteries.

My questions is, what about under 5 deg. And over 40, are multiplus not charging or is it charging with reduced current?

Is it doing the same in veconfig?

I can't find anything about it in the documentation.

Hi @Sten,

Lithium batteries does not operate well close to or below zero. In fact, they are incapable of being charged below zero and can only discharge very slowly.

Above 40 their life is considerably reduced.

See 2 screenshots attached for more info.

Also Google it. Lots of info available on that.

The Multis obviously takes this into account, but exactly how, I am not sure.

Hope this help.

Regards,

Anita

Hi @Anita

All this I know about, but thanks for answering.

What I want to know, is how the multiplus handle charge of lithium under 5°C and over 40°C
