Dear Victron team, Please check the time for Bulgaria about prices in DESS mode.
We are one hour BEFORE CET.
Please correct this because all calculation are wrong.
Today 15-May-2024 is the same. Two diagrams are the same BUT Bulgarian market price is CET time but the Victron algoritam is Bulgarian local time = ONE HOUR DIFFERENCE
Hi
I second that, although in a different place, but it could be related...
For example I set the time inside the Multi RS to be the correct time.
Somewhere, at some point, something is setting the time with one hour back.
Just like it doesn't account for the summer time...
Alex
I am not saying we didn't overlook anything, but we did do quite some testing on this in the last few weeks with Bulgarian user @stoyanov9.
Perhaps it is best to show the example of the data for April the 18th, as I have all the relevant screenshots available:
Displayed price for 08:00-09:00am local time (EET) => eur0.13
Suspected delivery price for 08:00-09:00 am local time (EET) => eur 0.10 at 07:00-08:00 am CET
Pavel enabled the battery discharge to the grid option and the system did a heavy discharge of the battery between 08:00-09:00 local time (EET) because of a selling price spike at this hour. The set selling price was eur 0.13. In the previous hour the selling price was eur 0.10.
The proof that we calculated in with the right price is in the last screenshot:
It shows that the actual discharge was done at the high price point.
If you are convinced the error lies on our side, please point me to what we need to adjust. I'd say it is in the diagram that says that the delivery time is in CET, which isn't ours.
Good morning.
My system is in Sofia Bulgaria. The local time is correct. VRM time is correct.
BUT the exchange time is CET - Central European time and my local time is ONE HOUR before CET.
Please see the pictures from today - 16-05-24
Two diagrams ARE the same BUT Bulgarian local time is different.
Hi Galin,
I was also confused by the charts times initially. My experiment was to discharge the battery in a peak hour and was expecting that my trader would have applied a lower selling price ( the selling price for the previous hour) as the delivery time for my discharge was one hour ahead than CET.
I was surprised by the settlement data that actually the trader had applied the peak hour selling price. I still do not understand how exactly the settlement works and cannot give you clear explanation why this happened for 18 April but indeed the highest selling price was applied to the discharged quantities. As a result, as of now, I do not have grounds to request changes from Victron.
I would propose that you also closely monitor the applied selling prices by your trader based on settlement data and if you spot clear deviations to share with Dirk for follow up.
I will also keep on monitoring for this as I do not have a clear understanding how exactly the applied selling prices are defined and will share if I spot any concerning deviations.
Regards,
Pavel
Good morning,
I will explain my view of the situation.
Bulgarian Energy Exchange have prices in CET time may be because it is more easy to the traders and producers from all EU countries. OK - this is regulations out of our power in local market.
Local time we also can not change CET+1h - OK - fix.
Now we have to insist Victron finally understood that in Bulgaria we also have systems with their products and we need support. I work with their products 12 years and help some of distributors on Bulgarian markets BUT I can not change VRM algorithm.
So I hope they do some changes so all our customers can use DESS with full potential.
If they need my support I am ready to give them connection with my VRM account.
Best regards.
Radoslavov
TODAY - 17-05-24 VRM and IBEX the same diagrams again
20-05-24 is still not correct. Please Victron team let correct the problem so we can use the function! We are users like the all EU ones.
Please do not just compare these two charts. The most important is how your trader applies the selling prices per hour. This is visible from the settlement data.
For now I am very happy with DESS. It charges and discharges the battery in sync with the expected selling prices. I do not have grounds to request changes from Victron as the system sold my energy at the highest selling price peaks as applied by my trader thus maximizing the sales.
DESS is a very good functionality I feel confident to recommend because it seamlessly manages the battery in an automated way. For instance, without DESS it is not possible to automatically sell electricity in the early morning hours when the battery is discharged because the system would first try to charge the battery.
Still, I will keep on monitoring it namely because the charts are so confusing.
Good morning,
I do not sell energy - only buy.
So first the both charts IBEX and VRM prices have to be at the same time CET+1 because we are in Bulgaria.
The second you check sell procedure and I will check buy one.
And please check in your report on the top is mention that the price of exchange is in CET and sell price is in a local time.
And last point. Please see the picture.
According to the VRM portal a peak buy price is 21 p.m. but the total consumption transfer to battery in 22 p.m. According to the IBEX at 22 p.m. is peak price to buy. If the diagram is shift one hour to right and peak in exchange and algorithm will be the same. DESS try to reduce peak in consumption also - in GREEN MODE.
Best regards
