702 only?? Not 712??

The instructions I received with my 712 only shows instructions for the 702 and 700.

Are the instructions for my 712 the same as for the 702?

Also, the + positive wire from +B1 to the battery has a label on it that says "702 only". Is this wire also OK to use with the 712 also?

Yes. The 702 and the 712 are the same unit, but the 712 has built in bluetooth:

I wouldn't call them the "same." For example, the 712 is recommended for lithium batteries because it has a lower power draw.
