I would like to replace my battery BMS with an alternative BMS -- is this an option? I cannot use the Lynx Smart BMS, because I don't have Victron batteries -- is this correct? Is there another BMS I can use with my system?

not sure it is correct to close my inquiry for the reason you suggested. i am asking a victron question: is victron system able to use other bms than what is provided by the battery?

You cannot use a Victron BMS on a non-Victron battery; for third-party batteries and BMS systems, have a look at the Battery Compatibility list: https://www.victronenergy.com/live/battery_compatibility:start
