Hi Robin,

Your bluesolar 100/50 will be running a firmware version with "adaptive" absorption time. See page 9 of the manual for details. https://www.victronenergy.com/upload/documents/Manual-BlueSolar-charge-controller-MPPT-100-30---100-50-EN-NL-FR-DE-ES-SE.pdf

Victron are working on the firmware to enable a fixed absorption time, but I don't think the latest firmware (v1.43) gives this. You will need a Bluetooth dongle or usb>ve direct cable to update the firmware. https://www.victronenergy.com/live/victronconnect:start

@Robin

The absorbtion management on Victron MPPT controllers has had problems across the board for months now. See here and here for a summary, and links to other people with similar problems, from the same root cause.

Victron has claimed to be working on/fixed these issues with firmware updates, but I first reported it in February and the problems still remains today.

In short- don't hold your breath for a solution.

Hi Robin,

Is your issue that your having trouble changing the absorption time in VictronConnect app from the 6h default?

Or that you have changed it and you believe that you are getting a different absorption time to what you have configured?

If your issue is configuring a different absorption time, could you post a screen image?

I have not used the VictronConnect app on PC (only on phone), but is there any '+' or '-' symbols and have you tried pressing them? If there is a scroll wheel have you tried to hold down your mouse button and drag the wheel up/down?

Upgrading the MPPT firmware won't help if your issue is actually configuring the absorption time.

But if you do want to update the FW to v1.42 ahead of the release into VictronConnect then you need to down load the correct FW file from Victron Professional;

https://professional.victronenergy.com/accounts/login/?next=/

Then follow the instructions in the VictronConnect manual for an update with self-supplied FW file (section 8.2);
