Connecting 2 shunts

Can I connect a new victron smart shunt to an older victron shunt.

For communication and information sharing? No, not directly.

What exactly are you trying to achieve? Are you thinking about a smart network?

Hi i have a multiplus inverter/charger with 500 amp shunt and the old blue power panel monitor I was hoping to put in the smart shunt to be able to get information on my phone via Bluetooth. Or am I better off replacing the old shunt with just the newer smart shunt.

If you mean can I have 2 smart shunts on a Cerbo GX then the answer is yes. And you can even have them on the same 0v leg in series if you really needed to.

I have 5 shunts in my system.

You can certainly install two shunts in series.

My series connected 400A KH and 500A Victron Smart Shunt monitor our battery and the numbers are very close.
