veflash vs victron Connect

Hello

On a Multiplus II 5000 with all the LEDs flashing, bootloader error, should we update the firmware using VEFlash or VictronConnect?

to fix the problem.

I ask about the mention in the documentation of absolete in the documentation for VEFLash..

Tks

veflash is the only tool that can resolve an inconsistent state.

Failed updates can sometimes be resolved via VC, but if it isn't working, reflash with veflash.

Tks for the reply.

Why do they say absolete.

Because its functionality has been rolled into vrm and VC. There are just some corner cases where an update goes bad and it is still required.

All normal.

It also takes the work out of working out and selecting firmware. And possibly getting it wrong.

It is 'obsolete' for most end users. As @nickdb mentioned there are much easier ways now for the end users and firmware updates.
