When shore AC connected are watts limited to multiplus size

Hi I'm pondering downsizing my multiplus from 2000 watt to 800 watt, but occasionally will want to run a couple of things slightly higher power than that. If I am connected to shore power would the multiplus still have the 800watt limit or does the AC literally pass straight through and allow me to use eg. A 200watt power tool? Many thanks

It passes through to the rating of the transfer switch, which appears to be 16A for that range.
