We are new boat owners and are struggling with how to charge our batteries, we've had the engine on tickover for two hours with the charger turned on , but the batteries are still saying the same as before, is there something else we should be turning on
That image shows the inverter as being off, not on charge.
You sure the switch is in the correct position? Assuming it is a Victron inverter.
Does the inverter need to be on to charge our batteries, sorry we have no idea what we are doing
Victron have various products, assuming you have one, the typical ones being an inverter/charger all in one. You have turned yours off so it will do nothing if the power source is AC.
Rather than break expensive equipment best contact the seller or click on the "where to buy" link on the victron site which should have installers etc in your area.
What is your equipment set-up? You have some PV(solar). But how is your engine (alternator) connected to the system?
Sorry, we have only just bought the boat and have no idea about any of it
What we really need is someone to come out and teach us how to use the system correctly, I have no idea as to where I could find a company that would do that
Hopefully have solved it , got in contact with the previous owner
