I tow a caravan and have a RAM 1500 eTorque as my tow vehicle which is basically a ‘mild’ hybrid vehicle that, amongst other things, has an engine stop/start feature to conserve fuel at traffic lights. It has also replaced the traditional alternator with a 48-volt battery-powered, belt-drive motor generator. The 48v system powers the vehicle’s internal electrics as well as also provides charge to a traditional 12v lead-acid cranking battery.
I will created a fused connection from the cranking battery to the Orion input terminals - My question is, what is the optimum configuration for the Orion TR-Smart DC-DC charger in my caravan to charge my 400ah lithium house batteries based on my tow vehicle, for example, engine shutdown detection, voltage lockout, alternator type and settings etc.
