Buck Boost Control

How do you protect lithium batteries when a buck boost is used for charging?

The system will include 12V lithium smart batteries, Multiplus, VE.Bus BMS, Colour Control etc.

The BatteryProtect manual states that the device should not be used for a B2B device. However, a BatteryProtect is used for the VW van project on the Victron website!

Hey did you get anywhere with this? I am installing a similar setup and equally confused by finding the VW install diagrams had battery protect after the Buckboost to protect the batteries.

Thanks, Ben

Looks like I can use the charge disconnect output from the BMS as an input on pin2 of the buck boost. But, should I use a BatteryProtect as in the VW project?
