How to get Venus to load a .dtbo file? (on a Beaglebone)

I want to try loading a device tree overlay, rather than rebuilding Venus. How would I do this please?

BTW, does anyone know where uEnv.txt is located? I've found some references to this, but no path.

@Mike Dorsett i assume this is on an RPI device. If so

Copy it into the directory /u-boot/overlays/ and then reference it as normal in the file /boot/config.txtx

No, This is on a beaglebone, (Black/green) the Pi has the spi port in the /dev register, this is missing from the bone.
