Hello, I would like to install a Smartsolar 75/15 in the mobile home, can it also be installed in such a way that the inputs/outputs are on the side, or why does it have to be installed with the connections pointing downwards? Best regards, Axel

The main reason against non vertical orientation would be water ingress. Terminals on the bottom wont allow moisture to freely enter the mppt.
The 75-10 and 75-15 dont have a finned heatsink.
Because the heatsink is assembled vertically to allow a proper air movement and with that the MPPT charger is cooled. There is no other reason.
If you decide to mount the MPPT charger with the terminals facing sidewards, the charger might get hotter and will decrease the solar charge power. You could also install some fan to cool the charger down if it gets hot.
