3-phase grid, 3-phase generator and 1-phase ESS?

We have a 3-phase grid in our house. Recently we installed solarpanels with a Solaredge SE5K 3-phase inverter. Everything is working fine.

Now we are looking for a solution to add an ESS. We are considering to use 2 or 3pcs. of the Pylontech US5000 batteries in combination with a VE Multiplus 3000/48 charger/inverter.

To my opinion the system has to measure the current going to the grid or coming from the grid in all 3 phases. The sum of all 3 phases should define if the batteries can be charged or discharged.

Is this feasible?

What is your max charge from your mppt’s? If you have feedin excess active, your system will not accept the set max charge current, but mppts will run at full throttle. The only units to use your solar power are your battery and multiplus. The Victron system will first supply your houseload, hereafter rest goes to your battery…and note, nothing will be feedin before your battery is nearly full.

So please check your settings if you are to feedin excess.

Lars (who still struggle with controlling the system)
